A new 404-bed hospital, Hôpital Vaudreuil-Soulanges, is under active construction in Vaudreuil-Dorion itself, at the intersection of boulevard de la Cité-des-Jeunes and Autoroute 30. It will include a 41-stretcher emergency department and 11 operating rooms - the province describes it as the first net addition of hospital beds in a Quebec hospital project in over 30 years.

Construction began in February 2023, led by Santé Québec Montérégie-Ouest with the Société québécoise des infrastructures (SQI). The opening date has moved more than once: first targeted for December 2026, it slipped to building completion around 2027, and the current official target (per a July 2026 federal funding announcement) is a gradual opening starting summer 2028.

The estimated cost has also grown over time, from about $1.7 billion at the original 2021-2022 estimate to $2.6 billion as of that July 2026 announcement, which included $211 million in federal funding.

Both existing facilities operate under Santé Québec Montérégie-Ouest (formerly CISSS de la Montérégie-Ouest, renamed as part of Quebec's health-system reorganization), part of Quebec's public health system.
